I really like the water moving down the awning and umbrella. Really nice detail. Well done with such a limited palette too. One critique I have is the hair bounce feels a little off, like maybe it should be swaying back and forth the whole time rather than bouncing and then staying in place a bit. Other than that, this is really cute, charming, and just a nice little image.

Tatamidork responds:

Thanks for the feedback! i know it should move back and forth but i like the bouncing effect in my animations. Plus, this is a hobby, so i don't have too much time to make them like i really want to. I made this in 1 day (the pixel art and the animation).

Wow I really like your art style. Very focused and intentional, but also a lot going on in it.

Dazgohnglii responds:

Thank you so much!!!! This one took a while too lol but im super glad u like it :DDDD

I like your character designs. If you're looking for feedback, I'd say don't be afraid to really push the sizing of things to make the staging more dynamic. Like the "big object" panel, and the last panel, the foreground elements could potentially be much larger and imposing, almost overtaking the panel. You have quite a good sense of shading and contrast with your composition.

Popinski64 responds:

Hey, thanks, I'll try that.

I like these designs, they remind me of Tezuka. Charming little weirdos

Herrice responds:

Big shoes to fill! Thank you so much! 💓

Fantastic. I really like the bits that slightly fade into the darkness, really gives it a great sense of depth. And of course the crumbled framing looks awesome

ExtinctionArts responds:

Thank you brother, I was hoping the background fading came through

Cute expressions with each of the characters, and I like the composition of the whole thing a lot.

TindyFlow responds:

This was surprisingly fun to do.
Pixel art is really something else.

I love the sort of claustrophobic, desperate feeling this comic gives off. Great art and panel layout. The only negative I have to say is it's sometimes a little hard to read some of the words. Other than that, such a great style

TheFroginator responds:

thank you! the words are intentionally hard to read. it is after all a visual medium, not a textbook! i hate text in comics, so i was just having fun with it. glad you were still able to enjoy despite my evil design.

Big fan of this one. Good use of negative space and depth of field

ExtinctionArts responds:

Thanks man, it’s fun and makes you think of what other elements i could try it with. Like perhaps a pile of trash and cans in an alley setting or something. Might draw that now… :P

I always like the dark shadows on these, like they're emerging from a dark cave. It's always cool to see a new one out of this series.

ExtinctionArts responds:

Thanks. Last night I had a big flux of motivation so I’m going to try to make some more of these

Really like your art style. The neck seems a bit too stiff to me. I think giving it a bit more of a springy bounce would really push the liveliness. The way the head bounces back to the front, doesn't seem to be reacting to anything, just arbitrarily shifting back to the front. I think having it be more of a secondary motion from the main body's movement would help. I like the way the feet are animated a lot. Not to be too overly critical, just some observations.

Butzbo responds:

That's a fair point I'd say, the intent was to have the whole head react as a follow-up to the body, but it could have been more pushed indeed. I always appreciate Newgrounds for the eventual constructive criticism. Thanks!

Don't let the sludge run sour.
